‘The next big thing is here’ and it comes in the shape of the new Galaxy S5 Smartphone. The device officially launched on 11th April, but preorders begun on 28th March. Priced at £579 for a sim free version on the Samsung Website this flagship phone needs to deliver.
And deliver it does! Going head to head with the likes of the Apple iPhone 5S and the Sony Xperia Z2, the Galaxy S5 has finger print scanning technology, a new IP67 rating for water and dust resistance along with improvements to camera quality, connectivity and download speed and built in health and fitness technologies. There is also a new and improved Gear 2 as well as the new Gear Neo and Gear Fit, all designed to work with the S5 when you are on the go.
If you are thinking of investing in this new Smartphone then Protect Your Bubble bring you a round up of everything you need to know about the Galaxy S5:

In terms of design, the Galaxy S5 isn’t worlds apart from the S4. It has the same rounded corners and familiar metal band, however the shiny metal back has been replaced by a matte look back with dotted texture, designed with better grip ability in mind.
The main upgrade in design however comes from the new IP67 rating, making the device water resistant and dust proof, a feature that was previously reserved for the Galaxy Active only.
Unfortunately the rumours of an iris scanner were just product of imagination as there is no such thing built into the new device. There is however a finger print sensor, but of course we have seen that already in the rival iPhone 5s. The addition of this technology however does mean that Android users can benefit for the same convenience and added security as iPhone users. Samsung have taken security one step further, by applying their fingerprint scanning identification to online payments also, allowing S5 users to make secure Paypal payments with just one touch.
The new device is slightly larger and heavier than it’s predecessor, something that was expected, and is available in black, white, blue and copper gold. However, if you have your eye on the gold version, they hopefully you are a Vodafone customer as the network has gained exclusive rights to the Samsung Galaxy S5 in copper gold.
The S5 runs Google’s latest operating system, Android 4.42, or nicknamed Kit Kat. Hard to ignore is the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with the most impressive processor for Android devices to date. The 2.5GHz quad-core processor is set to deliver increased speed and power combined with increased optimization for 4G LTE Technology.
Samsung have always been a fan of slightly larger screens so it is no surprise that the Galaxy 5s follows suit with an ever so slightly enlarged 5.1inch Full HD, Super AMOLED inch screen.
An improved camera was high on Samsung’s priority list, so naturally the S5 has received a camera upgrade. The device boasts a 16 Mega Pixel Rear Camera, an improvement from the 13 Mega Pixel camera with the S4, and according to Samsung boasts the world’s fastest auto focus speed of up to just 0.3 seconds.
Additional features include a super battery saving mode, built in heart rate monitor, pedometer and the enhanced S Health functionality.
